TOUR ITINERARY

 

DAY 1: TOKYO

Check in for 3 nights at the hotel in Tokyo. You have the rest of the day at leisure to recharge or go out into the city for your first taste of the city that never sleeps.

DAY 2: TOKYO

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Tokyo including Asakusa temple and a stroll down the colourful Nakamise shopping arcade. You will have lunch at a local restaurant, then visit Meiji shrine and the Harajuku district where old and new cultures collide. You will enjoy a welcome dinner in the evening to get acquainted with your guide and fellow tour members.

DAY 3: TOKYO – MOUNT FUJI – TOKYO

Take a day trip to Hakone to see the majestic Mount Fuji. Enjoy a Mount Fuji/Hakone sightseeing tour, including a ride on the Hakone Ropeway and the beautiful Lake Ashi Cruise. You will have lunch at a local restaurant. Travelling along the Chuo Expressway, enjoy the scenery of rural Japan and a breathtaking view of sacred Mount Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan, rising to 3,776m above sea level.

DAY 4: TOKYO – KYOTO

Today you will leave for Kyoto by bullet train to arrive at midday. Stay in the heart of downtown Kyoto and enjoy a tour of Arashiyama and the Sagano region by local train. Stroll through the tenryuji temple garden, then return to downtown Kyoto and visit Kyoto’s famous restorant provedores’ arcade, Nishiki. You will stay at your Kyoto accommodation for 3 nights.

DAY 5: KYOTO

This morning you will visit Nijo Castle and Kinkakuji, the famous Golden Pavillion. In the afternoon, you will visit Kiyomizu temple, perched on a cliff-side and overlooking the city. Part of the fun of visiting Kiyomizu temple is the approach to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of the enchanting Higashiyama district. You will then return to the hotel, and in the evening enjoy a stroll through the Gion geisha district with your guide.

DAY 6: KYOTO – HIROSHIMA / MIYAJIMA – KYOTO

Today you will travel to Hiroshima by bullet train. The full day tour includes Hiroshima Peace Park, Peace Museum and Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome where you can witness Hiroshima’s poignant history. You will then visit Miyajima Island, where you will see the iconic Itsukushima Shrine and its famous floating Torii gate.

DAY 7: KYOTO – KANAZAWA

Marvel at the incredible Fushimi Inari, a shrine with thousands of vermilion torii gates stretching as far as the eye can see. The shrine is one of Japan’s most popular and distinctive shrines. In the afternoon, we leave for the Samurai town, Kanazawa, by express train. You will spend 2 nights’ accommodation in Kanazawa.

DAY 8: KANAZAWA – TAKAYAMA – SHIRAKAWAGO – KANAZAWA

Travel back in time to the historic town of Takayama by chartered coach and enjoy a walking tour, visiting Takayama’s famous morning market and the old streets of Sannomachi. Travel on to Shirakawago, the quaint village now listed as a world heritage site. You will then return to Kanazawa in the late afternoon.

DAY 9: KANAZAWA – NOZAWA

You will visit the Kenrokuen Garden, the Kutaniyaki Pottery Kiln and the Higashi Chaya District. You then leave for Nozawa onsen travelling by the New Hokuriku Line Bullet Train. Upon arrival, enjoy a 370 year old authentic hot spring onsen with a quaint village atmosphere. Japanese traditional dinner at hotel. 1 night’s accommodation at a traditional Japanese ryokan in Nozawa village.

DAY 10: NOZAWA – TOKYO

Sneak a peek at the renowned Nagano Snow Monkey Park before returning back to the hustle and bustle of Tokyo by bullet train. 2 nights’ accommodation in Tokyo.

DAY 11: TOKYO

You have a full day at leisure to explore all that Tokyo has to offer. Perhaps consider souvenir shopping, a street food crawl at the markets or a visit to one of Tokyo’s more peculiar attractions – your tour guide will be happy assist you in organising your day. Return in the evening to enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow tour mates.

DAY 12: TOKYO

Check out from your hotel, and enjoy your last day in Japan with some last minute sightseeing or souvenir hunting.
